Is LexRanked a qualifying provider?
Yes, for lawyers on a paid plan. LexRanked publishes a listing of lawyers in one place and charges a flat subscription for profile plans, so under Rule 4-7.22(b)(3) it is a qualifying provider (a directory). It is not The Florida Bar Lawyer Referral Service and is not approved by The Florida Bar.
LexRanked is a trade name of E-Marketing Paweł Wiszniewski (Poland), and we use that legal name in our communications with the public (Rule 4-7.22(d)(9)). Listing, rankings and the free claim cost nothing; only the optional paid plans make a lawyer a participant.
How does LexRanked meet Rule 4-7.22(d)?
Point by point, as follows.
- (d)(1) Communications. We do not contact prospective clients directly and do not solicit in person. Editorial pages follow a published methodology, paid elements are labelled, and owner-written text is checked against the lawyer advertising rules before it is published.
- (d)(2) No fee sharing. Plans are a fixed monthly or yearly subscription. We never take a percentage of a fee or a recovery, a charge per case or a charge based on the value of a matter (see Florida Ethics Opinion 18-1).
- (d)(3) Florida-licensed lawyers only. Profiles are built from The Florida Bar's official records and refreshed regularly; paid plans and contact buttons are only available to lawyers whose record shows them eligible to practise in Florida.
- (d)(4) No required referrals. We never require or reward a lawyer for referring clients to us or to anyone else.
- (d)(5) Annual report. We give The Florida Bar the names and Florida Bar numbers of all participating lawyers at least once a year, by July 1.
- (d)(6) Documentation. This page is that documentation. On request we send a signed copy to a participating lawyer.
- (d)(7) Bar inquiries. We answer any official inquiry by bar counsel in writing within 15 days.
- (d)(8) No Bar endorsement. LexRanked is not affiliated with, endorsed or approved by The Florida Bar. We cite the Bar's public records as a source only.
- (d)(9) Legal name. See above.
- (d)(10) Office location. Each profile shows the city of the lawyer's or firm's office next to the contact details.
- (d)(11) Not a law firm. LexRanked does not provide legal services or legal advice and says so on every page.
- (d)(12) Four or more firms. The directory lists lawyers from many different law firms.
What must a participating Florida lawyer do?
Report to The Florida Bar within 15 days of starting or ending a paid plan, keep your own profile text within the advertising rules, and keep this page for your due diligence.
- Report participation (Rule 4-7.22(e)(1)). Tell The Florida Bar within 15 days of agreeing to take part, and again within 15 days of cancelling. The Bar's qualifying providers page has the details.
- Due diligence (Rule 4-7.22(e)(2)). Read this page before you subscribe and keep a copy. You may also ask the Bar whether we have filed our annual report.
- Your own text. Your profile description, button and photo are your advertising: no "best" or "#1", no "expert" or "specialist" unless board certified or objectively verifiable, no promised results, past results only with the required disclaimer, and fees with who pays costs (Rules 4-7.13 and 4-7.14). We flag likely problems before publishing.
- Cancel any time. If The Florida Bar tells you that a provider is not compliant, Rule 4-7.22(e)(2)(B) gives you 30 days to stop taking part; you can cancel your plan yourself at any time.
Does a paid plan change a ranking?
No. Scores and positions come only from documented facts by the published formula; payment, claiming a profile or advertising never changes them.
See how rankings work and our advertising policy.
How do I get a signed copy or ask a question?
Write to us through the contact form or at contact@lexranked.com. Bar counsel inquiries are answered in writing within 15 days.
